Srinagar: A massive convention was organised at Tagore Hall in Srinagar on Thursday by BJP’s Lalchowk Constituency unit to commemorate 11 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre. The event witnessed significant turnout from party workers, supporters, and senior leaders.
The program was organised by Senior BJP leader and DDC Member Er. Aijaz Hussain, who welcomed the gathering and reflected on the Modi-led government’s journey of “historic development, empowerment and transparent governance,” especially with regard to Jammu & Kashmir’s socio-economic progress.
Shri Ashok Koul, State General Secretary (Organisation), presided over the event as Chief Guest. He highlighted the government’s landmark decisions such as reservation for women and OBCs, the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge in Reasi, and extensive infrastructural upgrades contributing to deeper integration of J&K with the rest of the country.
Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, who attended as Guest of Honour, praised the Modi government’s focus on poor and marginalised communities. “The past eleven years have seen inclusive and pro-people schemes directly benefiting those at the bottom of the pyramid,” she said.
Former MLC Vikram Randhawa also spoke at the event, underlining the government’s “ground-level impact” in areas such as sanitation, digital services, and grassroots empowerment. “Every citizen has seen a visible change, and this is the strength of Modiji’s model,” he said.
Lalchowk Constituency President Umer Shafi delivered a vote of thanks, appreciating the presence of all senior leaders, workers and volunteers. A solemn Shradhanjali (tribute) was also held during the program to mourn the tragic deaths of passengers in the recent Ahmedabad plane crash.

Sajid Ahmad (Kashmir Media Incharge), Sahil Bashir (Social Media Incharge), Dr. Rafi Ahmad (Grievance Cell Incharge), Mahila Morcha Leader Saba Bhat, Ex-Corporator Bashir Ahmad, Farooq Reshi, Uzair Beigh, Majid Ahmad, Asif Khan, Khalid Baqal, Rashida, and other senior workers of the Lalchowk unit.
