8 convictions, 9 community service punishments secured under new criminal laws in Shopian: Police

Srinagar : Police in Shopian on Thursday said that it has secured 8 convictions in separate criminal cases and ensured Community Service punishment for 9 individuals involved in minor offences, under the New Criminal Laws.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the convictions were recorded in cases registered in Police Station Heerpora FIR No’s. 33/2024, 48/2024, Police Station Shopian FIR No’s. 113/2024, 02/2025, 104/2024 and Police Station Zainapora FIR No’s 86/2024, 85/2024, 97/2024. Stating that these outcomes were achieved across various police stations of the district following comprehensive investigation and timely prosecution, Police in its statement further said that the cases culminated in exemplary punishments being awarded by competent courts under the updated legal provisions, reflecting a robust commitment to justice and legal reform.
