Poonch: Two persons sustained serious burn injuries after a fire broke out due to gas cylinder leakage in Dachhal area of Tehsil Mendhar on Wednesday.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the incident occurred around 6:30 PM inside a kitchen when a gas leak triggered the fire, leaving both individuals severely injured.
The injured have been identified as, Mohd Shakeel, son of Mohd Nazir, resident of Dachhal Gohlad, aged 23 years. Saleema Akhter, daughter of Jamal Din, resident of Dachhal Gohlad, aged 30 years, they said.
Both victims were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Mendhar for treatment. After receiving first aid, they were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for advanced medical care, they said.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
