Srinagar, June 10 (JKNS): An elderly woman was found dead in the Sonwar area of Srinagar on Tuesday after slipping and falling into the Jhelum River.
Official sources told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Mumtaza Begum, aged above 70, a resident of Palpora, Srinagar.
They said that the woman accidentally slipped and fell into the river. Her body was later recovered from the Jhelum near Sonwar.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation started. (JKNS)
