DGP Appointed as Director of Civil Defence for UT Ladakh

Leh, June 3 (JKNS): The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh has appointed the Director General of Police (DGP), Union Territory of Ladakh, as the Director of Civil Defence for the region.

According to the notification a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 4 read with Clause (f) of Section 2 of the Civil Defence Act, 1968 (27 of 1968), the Lieutenant Governor of Union territory of Ladakh hereby appoints the Director General of Police, Union territory of Ladakh as Director of Civil Defence, Union territory of Ladakh.

The Director of Civil Defence shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as prescribed under the Civil Defence Act, 1968, as well as under the rules and regulations made thereunder to ensure effective implementation and management of Civil Defence measures in the UT of Ladakh, reads the notification. (JKNS)
