Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal, Tuesday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festival.
The meeting was attended by SSP, Additional Deputy Commissioner, President Auqaf-e-Islamia, religious leaders, civil society members and heads of various government departments.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the participants on the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of the festival.
He assured that all necessary arrangements related to uninterrupted water and power supply, sanitation, traffic management, medical facilities and fire and emergency services would be put in place. He emphasized that cleanliness and hygiene in and around Eidgahs and public areas would be ensured. Market checking squads will be activated to regulate prices and prevent arbitrary overcharging of essential commodities.
The SSP informed that elaborate security arrangements would be made across the district to ensure a peaceful and secure atmosphere during the festivities.
The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in coordination for the smooth and hassle-free celebration of Eid-ul-Azha.
