Earlier, two dental college students from Kerala had tested positive. “As of now, there are four active cases in Kashmir,” the official said, adding that no fresh case has been reported from Kashmir in the past two days.

In Jammu division, the remaining three active cases include a student from Reasi, one individual from the Babliana area of Jammu, and another from Kathua district, the official added.

“As of now, a total of seven COVID-19 cases are active in Jammu and Kashmir. There is no need to panic, but precautions are necessary,” the official said.

Health authorities said surveillance is ongoing and urged the public to continue following COVID-appropriate behavior, even as the overall situation remains under control.

It is pertinent to mention that the number of active cases across India has reached 3,395. Kerala leads with 1,336 active cases, followed by Maharashtra and Delhi. Unfortunately, four COVID-related deaths were also reported nationwide in the last 24 hours. (JKNS)
