DC Pulwama chairs District Rent Assessment Committee meeting

PULWAMA1: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today chaired a meeting of the District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC) here today.

The meeting was convened to deliberate on cases pertaining to the assessment and approval of rents for government-occupied private premises across the district.

During the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pulwama provided a detailed, case-wise briefing to the chair regarding the formalities completed for each case.

A total of 78 cases were presented before the committee during the session. These cases involved premises being utilised by multiple departments including Health, Handloom, Social Welfare, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Irrigation, Education and others.

While reviewing the cases, Dr. Qayoom emphasized the need for transparent and timely processing of rent assessment proposals and reiterated the importance of maintaining clear communication with concerned landowners and departmental heads to avoid unnecessary delays. He also directed that all assessments must strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines issued by the Government.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the ADC Pulwama; Superintending Engineer, R&B Pulwama; Ex. Engineer R&B, Awantipora; CMO Pulwama; CEO Pulwama; District Social Welfare Officer, Pulwama; Assistant Director, FCS&CA Pulwama; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pulwama; and other district officers, along with the concerned landowners.
