Chairperson DDC Kulgam chairs meeting on formulation of District Plan for current financial year

KULGAM: A meeting to formulate the District Development Plan for the current financial year was convened today under the chairmanship of M Afzal Parray, Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Kulgam, at the District Headquarters, here.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairperson DDC, Shazia Jan and other DDC members, Chief Executive Officer DDC (Additional District Development Commissioner, Kulgam), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kulgam, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Kulgam and other concerned officers.

Addressing the meeting, Chairperson DDC emphasized the importance of participatory planning and timely implementation of projects.

He called for active coordination among all stakeholders and stressed the need for transparency, accountability, and robust monitoring to ensure impactful outcomes.

Earlier, Chief Planning Officer Kulgam briefed the Chairperson and participants on the status and achievements of the previous year’s District Plan, highlighting completed works, pending projects, and budget utilization.

Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on developmental priorities and strategies for preparing a practical, inclusive, and people-centric district plan.

The focus remained on addressing the district’s critical needs, ensuring equitable development, and aligning proposals with public expectations.

During the deliberations, Assistant Commissioner Development Kulgam assured the Chairperson and members that all grievances raised by DDC Members would be resolved at the earliest.

He further stated that the formulation and execution of the plan will strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines to ensure transparency and effectiveness.
