Anantnag, May 31 (JKNS): A joint mock drill under the banner of Operation Shield was conducted in Anantnag on Saturday by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in collaboration with Civil Defence, aimed at strengthening the district’s preparedness for emergency situations.
The drill was closely monitored by top district authorities, including the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, and Superintendent of Police (SP) Operations, who lauded the efforts of participating teams, as per news agency JKNS.
The exercise involved demonstrations of rapid response tactics, simulated rescue operations, and real-time coordination between various emergency services. Officials emphasized that such drills are vital for evaluating readiness and refining joint response protocols.
A senior official remarked that the drill reflects Anantnag’s commitment to disaster preparedness and public safety, underscoring the importance of coordination between civil and police agencies in times of crisis.
Organizers noted that apart from training response teams, the exercise also aimed to enhance public awareness about disaster management and to encourage community participation in emergency preparedness activities. (JKNS)
