Rajouri: Authorities in Rajouri have imposed strict restrictions on the illegal parking and operation of commercial vehicles at Gujjar Mandi, Panja Chowk, and Khachar Ground, directing all such vehicles to shift operations to the designated Bela Bus Stand.

“It has come to notice that Tavera, Sumo and other commercial vehicles are being parked illegally and are boarding/unboarding passengers around these areas, leading to major obstructions and public inconvenience,” reads an order issued by Additional District Magistrate Rajouri, as per news agency JKNS.

The order pointed out that despite previous instructions issued in October 2024 regarding the use of Bela Bus Stand, transporters continue to violate the directions.

“No parking or operating of commercial services shall be permitted at unauthorised spots in and around Gujjar Mandi, Panja Chowk, and Khachar Ground,” the order stated, adding that the measure was necessary in the interest of public safety and traffic regulation.

Officials including ARTO, Rajouri District Traffic Inspector, and concerned Station House Officers have been directed to enforce the order and take strict legal action against violators.

The administration also warned transport unions and vehicle owners of penalties under the Motor Vehicles Act and BNSS-2023 for non-compliance. (JKNS)
