Baramulla: Directorate of School Education Kashmir, in collaboration with the Chief Education Officer Baramulla, on Tuesday organized a one-day orientation programme for newly promoted Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Headmasters at Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla.
Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G.N. Itoo, was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Dr. Itoo emphasized the evolving role of educational leaders in shaping effective institutions. He highlighted the need for strong managerial acumen, transparency in governance, and a deep commitment to academic excellence.
He advised the officers to stay updated with departmental policies and administrative procedures to ensure smooth functioning of their respective zones and schools.
Dr. Itoo further stressed the importance of coordination and teamwork in educational administration. “You must all strive to be good managers. Coordination and collaboration are key for any head of institution, this is essential for achieving success,” he stated. He encouraged the newly promoted officers to lead by example and build a positive work culture that fosters accountability, innovation, and student-centric growth.
Various speakers also addressed the gathering, including the Joint Director Education North Kashmir, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, and Chief Accounts Officer, Directorate of School Education Kashmir. They shared insights on administrative protocols, financial procedures, and effective school governance, offering practical guidance to help the officers perform their roles efficiently.
The orientation programme focused on enhancing the administrative, financial, managerial, and supervisory capacities of the officers. Participants found the sessions informative and appreciated the opportunity to interact with senior officials and experts, calling the programme a valuable step towards professional empowerment.
Later, while interacting with the media, Dr. Itoo said that since school timings had already been adjusted due to the heat wave and the weather was now gradually improving, there is currently no plan to declare summer vacations.
