DC Reasi reviews preparedness for upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra

Reasi: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Nidhi Malik chaired a high-level meeting on Tuesday to review the preparedness for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra.
The meeting focused on ensuring seamless coordination among all departments and agencies involved in facilitating the smooth and safe conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The Deputy Commissioner conducted a department-wise review of the proposed works and their current status, particularly focusing on critical departments like PWD, JPDCL, Health and Municipality. She instructed all officials to expedite the tendering processes to ensure that infrastructure and services are fully operational ahead of the Yatra’s commencement.
She emphasized the importance of meticulous planning and timely execution of all logistics, urging departments to align with established protocols while incorporating improvements based on current needs.
Highlighting the importance of a positive and safe experience for the devotees, the DC stressed the need for well-maintained sanitation facilities, adequate public conveniences, safe and hygienic accommodations, and robust crowd and fire safety management syste
The Health Department was directed to deploy adequate medical staff and arrange for additional personnel as necessary, ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services for the pilgri She further added that the conditions of the lodgement centers and washrooms should also be properly repaired.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination and maintain constant communication to resolve issues in real time. She called on all stakeholders to uphold the highest standards of service and hospitality for the visiting pilgrims and ensure that all preparations are finalized well before the Yatra begins.
The meeting witnessed the participation of ADC Rakesh Kumar, CPO Narinder Kumar, SDM Katra Piyush Dhotra, CMO, Executive Engineers, DIO, EO MC and other officials.
