Civil Defence Training Empowers Karnah Volunteers at GDC Tangdar

Karnah Kupwara: A Civil Defence Basic Training Program was successfully organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Tangdar under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah, Mr. Zaffar Ahmad Lone. The program witnessed wide participation from all sections of society, including representatives from all villages of Block Tangdar and Teetwal, such as ex-Sarpanches, Lambardars, and Chowkidars.

The event also saw active involvement from the Tehsil Administration, including Tehsildar Karnah, Naib Tehsildar, and the concerned Patwaris, reflecting the administration’s commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness at the grassroots level.

Hosted at GDC Tangdar, the program was supported by Principal Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, along with the college staff and students, who welcomed the initiative and contributed to its successful execution.

The training was held as per the Tehsil-wise schedule communicated by the Deputy Controller, Civil Defence/SDRF Kupwara, aimed at equipping Civil Defence, Home Guard, and Aapda Mitra Volunteers with essential skills for disaster response and community safety.

In line with the official directive, Tehsildar and Block Development Officer instructed to mobilize volunteers from their jurisdictions and ensure their participation. The Deputy Controller, Civil Defence has been entrusted with coordinating with the respective Tehsildars and arranging all necessary logistics for the program.

The event marked a significant step towards building a resilient and well-prepared community in the Karnah region, with strong collaboration between the administration, educational institutions, and local stakeholders.
