Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Budgam; Contraband substances recovered

“`In continuation of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

Acting on specific information, a police team from Police Station Beerwah at a checkpoint established Arwah near Stone Crusher, intercepted two suspicious individuals who tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. During search, approximately 9 grams of heroin-like substance along with two mobile phones were recovered from their possession. Both individuals were arrested on the spot and have been identified as Mohd Ismail Parra son of Ghulam Ahmad Parra resident of Check-i-Kawoosa and Shahid Ahmed Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Sonpah.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 71/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah and further investigation is currently underway.
