Kishtwar: District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Kishtwar Pooja Thakur on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting to evaluate the progress of developmental activities being undertaken by the Rural Development Department (RDD) across the district.
The meeting was attended by DDC Members, ADC Pawan Kotwal, ACD Kaiser Bhawani, all Block Development Officers (BDOs) and other concerned officials.
The meeting reviewed the implementation status of the ongoing works and flagship schemes, while also identifying strategies to ensure the timely execution of projects.
The Chairperson raised concern over the non-disbursement of funds under the SOS Plan of the District Development Council in March due to insufficient allocations.
The DDC Councillors from Marwah and Warwan gave feedback regarding implementation of works under MGNREGA and other schemes during the financial years 2023–24 and 2024–25 and suggested further improvisation.
The Chairperson instructed the concerned officials to initiate immediate verification and take corrective action where necessary.
Addressing concerns regarding the PMAY scheme, the Chairperson emphasized that only eligible and deserving beneficiaries should be selected, and the process must be free from favoritism.
She stressed the importance of transparency, accountability, and community participation in the execution of rural development progra She urged the officials to focus on people-centric projects, resolve ground-level issues promptly, and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every deserving citizen.
