Bandipora: In a move to empower the youth of rural areas, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahamd Qadri on Wednesday inaugurated Youth Club at Kudara Bandipora.
The club has been established under the Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide initiative to create a drug-free India.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Faisal Ali Dar, President of the Bandipora Youth Federation, and other concerned.
Addressing the gathering, DC emphasized the importance of providing opportunities to the youth in the field of sports.
He said, this club will serve as a platform for the youth of this area to showcase their talent and divert their energy towards positive pursuits.
Qadri appreciated the efforts of the Bandipora Youth Federation and Ali’s Sports Academy for providing equipment and instructors to the trainees. He also urged the people of the area to take ownership of the club and ensure its success.
DC highlighted the importance of youth engagement in positive activities, stating, “Channelizing youth energy is our priority.”
Faisal Ali Dar, who is also the brand ambassador of Nasha Mukth Bharat Abhiyan, hailed the initiative as a significant step towards empowering the youth.
“We hope that more such youth clubs will be established in the district in the future, providing opportunities to the youth to excel in the field of sports,” he added.
He said Youth clubs are expected to provide a platform for the youth to engage in sports and other activities, helping to divert them from negative influences and empowering them to become positive contributors to society.
