Srinagar: Applauding the recent announcement by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, on Wednesday termed the decision to provide government jobs to the next of kin of cross-border shelling victims as a “great and commendable step.”

In a statement issued to news agency JKNS, Dr. Andrabi said, “The announcement made by Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha Ji that government jobs will be provided to the next of kin of those killed in Pakistan’s cowardly shelling on civilians will bring immense relief to the affected families.”

She added that such decisive action not only brings solace to the victims but also sends a strong message that the administration stands firmly with the people during difficult times. “This move reflects the government’s humanitarian approach towards those who have suffered irreparable loss,” she said.

The announcement was made by the Lieutenant Governor during his visit to Rajouri and Poonch where he met the bereaved families of the victims and reviewed the situation post shelling and Operation Sindoor. (JKNS)
