Shopian: To track the pace of ongoing developmental works in the town, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta on Tuesday visited various areas of Shopian town.
DC took first-hand stock of the progress of different developmental projects which are currently under execution in the district through Municipal Council, Shopian.
These projects and works which were visited include a new vending zone at the main town, footpath construction at Gagren and car parking at hospital road.
During the visit, Gupta emphasized the early completion of the vending zone for proper/systematic rehabilitation of street vendors. This, he said, shall ease the congestion problem in the town.
DC called for proper and effective utilization of available land resources for the sustainable development of the town. Arrangement of adequate facility of parking was also stressed and MC Shopian was asked to work towards that end.
Instructions were issued for early completion of the pathways development project and other beautification works in the town.
DC was accompanied by ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone; ACR, DIO, ARTO, Secretary MC, and other officers and officials.
