Shailendra Kumar visits Poonch, meets victims of cross border shelling

Poonch : Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Shailendra Kumar on Friday visited Poonch district and met families affected by recent cross border shelling.
During the visit, Shailendra went to affected villages and personally met with families who have suffered due to shelling.
Expressing his solidarity, he assured them of the government’s full support and directed the district administration to adopt a proactive, public centric approach to relief and rehabilitation.
As part of his visit, the Principal Secretary also went to Mankote, where he met the bereaved family of a woman who lost her life in the shelling incident.
Offering condolences, the Principal Secretary assured them that the administration stands shoulder to shoulder with affected families .
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, during the visit, briefed the Principal Secretary on the relief and restoration works carried out in the affected areas.
The DC informed that power and water supply have been fully restored, hospitals are functioning normally, and all essential services are running smoothly.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch further informed the Principal Secretary that village level assessment teams have already been constituted and are actively working on ground to identify and document losses.
He also informed that for the ease of the affected public, district administration has also launched ‘Report to Support’ initiative, under which Tehsil wise WhatsApp numbers have been issued for allowing residents to report damage or seek assistance directly and efficiently.
Shailendra appreciated the prompt and coordinated response of the district administration and stressed the importance of continuing relief measures in an efficient, and people focused manner.
