Three Terrorists Killed in Tral Encounter, Identity Yet to Be Confirmed: IGP Kashmir V.K Birdi

Srinagar, May 15 (JKNS): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V. K. Birdi, on Thursday confirmed that Three terrorists were neutralized during a fierce gunfight following credible inputs about their presence in the area.

While speaking to media persons as per news agency JKNS, IGP Birdi said that security forces acted swiftly upon receiving information regarding the terrorist movement, leading to an encounter in the Nadar Loorgam.

“Soon after intelligence was received, the area was surrounded and contact was established with the terrorists,” he said.

He added that bodies of three terrorists have been spotted at the site. “Their identities and affiliations are yet to be confirmed, and the operation is still ongoing,” the IGP stated.

He further said that forces are carefully combing the area to ensure no threat remains. “The operation is in its final stages. Only after complete sanitization will we confirm the details about the group involved,” he added.

IGP Birdi reiterated that the security grid in Kashmir is determined to dismantle the terror infrastructure. “Our efforts are directed at uprooting the entire terror ecosystem, and we are progressing steadily in that mission,” he said. (JKNS)
