Ferozepur, May 14 (JKNS): Border Security Force (BSF) constable Purnam Kumar Shaw, who was apprehended by Pakistan Rangers on April 23, was handed over to Indian authorities at the Attari-Wagah border on Wednesday morning.
Officials said Shaw, a resident of Rishra in West Bengal’s Hooghly district, was repatriated at 10:30 am after sustained coordination between the two sides. He had been taken into custody from along the India-Pakistan International Border in Punjab’s Ferozepur district, a day after the terror attack in Pahalgam.
The BSF expressed satisfaction over Shaw’s safe return and thanked relevant authorities for facilitating the process.
Security officials are expected to debrief Shaw in connection with the circumstances surrounding his detention before he rejoins duty. (JKNS)
