Pulwama: A district-level awareness workshop on the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) program was organized on Saturday at the Town Hall, Pulwama.
The workshop was a collaborative effort of Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), the State Programme Implementation Unit (SPIU) – Grant Thornton, and the District Industries Centre (DIC) Pulwama.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, and key stakeholders from the district.
JKTPO, under the supervision of the Department of Industries and Commerce, J&K, is conducting workshops to enhance the outreach and capacity-building of local MSMEs and entrepreneurs.
These workshops aim to raise awareness about the RAMP program, which supports MSMEs through market linkages, digital financing, skilling, cluster development, and business reforms. The SPIU team presented detailed implementation procedures and addressed queries to ensure effective execution of RAMP initiatives.
The session was presided over by Waseem Ahmad Malik, General Manager, DIC Pulwama, who emphasized the importance of a collaborative approach for successful implementation of the RAMP scheme.
“It is imperative that all implementing agencies work in synergy with MSMEs to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pulwama. We must extend consistent handholding to our entrepreneurs to ensure sustainable growth and self-reliance,” he said.
The workshop featured participation from a diverse array of departments and institutions including the Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama, Dr. Peerzada Farhat, Manager SIDCO, DGM SICOP, Principal ITI Pulwama and representatives from JKEDI, ITI, Handloom and Handicrafts Department, Lead Bank, Horticulture and Agriculture Departments, and other district officials.
Various sessions were conducted to create awareness among MSMEs about the benefits, components, and application procedures under the RAMP program. These included discussions on capacity building, access to finance, consultancy support, and marketing assistance.
The workshop also provided a platform for direct interaction between entrepreneurs and government departments, enabling grievance redressal and identification of potential interventions.
