Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Led Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) on Friday announced an ex-gratia relief of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives recently, terming it a gesture of support and solidarity.
In a post on X, the party as per news agency JKNS wrote, “While no compensation can ever replace a loved one or heal the trauma caused to the family, as a gesture of support and solidarity, JKNC Government led by Honourable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announces ex-gratia relief of Rs 10 lakh to be provided to families of all who have deceased.”
The announcement comes amid heightened tension and civilian casualties in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir following the recent spate of cross-border shelling and attacks.
JKNC added that it stood firmly with the bereaved families during these difficult times and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring every possible assistance. (JKNS)
