Div Com-(K) inspects operational preparedness of STP Noorbagh

Srinagar : In connection with the completion of Comprehensive Sewerage Scheme of Greater Srinagar under JnNURM, Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Monday conducted an on-site inspection of the 60 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Noorbagh.
He inspected the operational readiness of the mega project which is expected to significantly improve drainage for nearly one-third of Srinagar city.
Emphasizing the project’s critical role in urban sanitation, he instructed the Zonal Manager of NBCC to accelerate all pending mechanical and electrical works to ensure the plant becomes functional by the end of May.
On the occasion, Div Com also interacted with the local residents and listened to their concerns regarding persistent sewer and storm water issues. He assured them that efforts were being intensified to complete the mega project.
Div Com was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, officers of Revenue and UEED departments during the visit.
