Around 20 Injured as Wall Collapses During Wedding in Rajouri

Rajouri: At least 20 people sustained injuries after a wall collapsed during a wedding function in Dhanidhar area of Rajouri district on Sunday evening, officials said.

An official told news agency JKNS that the incident occurred when a portion of the wall at the venue suddenly gave way, leading to chaos and injuries to several guests attending the function.

Among the injured were women, children, and elderly persons. Two of the injured were critically hurt and referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for advanced treatment.

The injured have been identified as Saima Akther (wife of Mohd Khaleel), Sartal Begum (wife of Mohd Din), Ayan (son of Zulfkar Ali), Serish Kousar (daughter of Zulfkar Ali), Zera Hayat Khan (daughter of Mohd Alyas), Tazeem Akther (wife of Munir Hussain), Shabeen Akther (wife of Mohd Arif), Jameelo Akhtar (wife of Mohd Maqsaad), Morad Zubair (son of Mehmood Hussain), Momtaz Begum (wife of Mohd Rasheed), Mariyam Akhtar (wife of Mohd Khaliq), Mumtaz Begum (wife of Mohd Kalim), Mumeza Akhtar (wife of Mohd Naseer), Anaya Kouser (daughter of Zaffar Iqbal), Mariya Kousher (wife of Imteyaz Ali), Qadeer Hussain (son of Mehandi Hussain), Araram Amin (daughter of Mohd Imran), Mamtaz Begum (wife of Mohd Din), Yasmeen Akthar (wife of Mohd Shafiq), and Rehan Khan (son of Qadir Hussain).

Police and local authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and a case has been registered. Further investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway. (JKNS)
