Budgam, May 3 (JKNS): The residents of Waragam village in Beerwah area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday alleged that political leaders who sought their votes during elections have failed to fulfil basic promises related to health, veterinary care, and clean water.

The locals said the village, home to over 500 families, lacks even the most essential infrastructure.

“There is no health centre here. If someone falls ill, we have to take them far away for treatment. By the time they reach, they might succumb to their illness,” said a local resident while speaking to JKNS.

They also pointed to the absence of a veterinary centre despite repeated assurances. “Before elections, leaders promised us a veterinary centre, but once voting ended, those promises disappeared too,” said another local.

Lack of clean drinking water was also highlighted. “We are not asking for free services. We are ready to pay, but at least give us clean water to drink,” said a third villager.

The residents appealed to the district administration to intervene and provide basic facilities that have remained elusive for years. (JKNS)
