Rajouri: As part of the government’s ongoing commitment to grassroots governance and responsive administration, Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudhary, on Thursday conducted a public outreach camp at Panchayat Chowkian and Panchayat Kalsian in Nowshera division.
The outreach programme aimed to foster direct communication with the people and resolve their issues promptly.
During the interactive session, the locals raised several concerns including the need for macadamization of roads, staff shortage in government institutions, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, water scarcity and establishment of a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Panchayat Chowkian.
Other highlighted issues included the need for additional border bunkers and Anganwadi centres, repair of dilapidated Government Middle School (GMS) Chowkian, low voltage problem and upgradation of GMS Jhanghar and GMS Sarya.
The Deputy Chief Minister assured the public that their genuine issues would be addressed in a time bound manner. He directed the concerned departments to initiate prompt redressal measures.
While reviewing implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), the Dy CM expressed concern over the slow pace of work. He instructed the officers to expedite project completion so that the benefits reach the people at the earliest.
Regarding the electricity issues, he directed the Power Development Department to take necessary corrective steps to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
On the occasion, the Dy CM also distributed labour cards among the eligible beneficiaries, reaffirming the government’s commitment to welfare and inclusivity.
ADC Nowshera, PO ICDS, Executive Engineers PDD Rajouri, PWD (R&B) Rajouri, PMGSY Rajouri and REW, ACP, CAHO, ALC, AD FCS&CA were present in the camp.
