Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Tuesday conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing and proposed development works in Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas.
During the meeting, the DC directed the PWD, PDD and PHE departments to work in close coordination with the GREF authorities for the joint survey and timely submission of a proposal for constructing a central drainage system from Malipeth to Kuleed Chowk along the NH244.
The initiative aims to address longstanding drainage issues and improve civic infrastructure in the town.
The progress on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the iconic Clock Tower projects at Harra Pond and Dak Bungalow Chowk was also reviewed. These projects, proposed under the Town Beautification Plan, are expected to become prominent landmarks upon completion.
The PWD authorities informed the DC that the DPR for these projects will be submitted within the next two days.
The DC stressed the importance of effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely execution of development initiatives and urged all concerned departments to maintain close communication for efficient project delivery.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kishtwar, Sunil Sharma; AEE PWD Kishtwar, Irshad Naik; besides other concerned AEEs and representatives from GREF.
