Govt bans 16 Pakistani YouTube channels

New Delhi: The government has banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for disseminating provocative, false and misleading content against India, government sources said on Monday.

The decision to ban the Pakistani channels was taken after the recommendations of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The Pakistani channels were disseminating provocative and communally sensitive content, false and misleading narratives and misinformation against India, its Army and security agencies in the backdrop of the tragic Pahalgam terror incident in Jammu and Kashmir, sources said.

Among the banned YouTube channels are Dawn News, Samaa TV, Ary News, Geo News, BOL NEWS, Umar Cheema Exclusive and Uzair Cricket.

It may be mentioned that 26 tourists were killed in a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22.
