Srinagar, April 28 (JKNS): An unidentified, partially decomposed male body was recovered from the Jhelum River near Shahtulpora bund area in Sumbal on Monday, officials said.
An official told news agency JKNS that local boatmen spotted the body, estimated to be of a man around 60 years of age, floating near the bund and subsequently fished it out.
Following the information, a police team reached the spot and took custody of the body. The identification of the deceased and cause of death are being ascertained, the official added.
Further investigations into the incident are underway. (JKNS)
