Ganderbal Police Act Swiftly, Arrest Suspect Circulated on Social Media

Ganderbal, Apr 25 (JKNS): Ganderbal Police have taken immediate action in identifying and apprehending a suspect whose image was circulated on social media.

The individual, identified as Aiyaz Ahmad Jungal, was allegedly involved in an incident with a tourist at Thajwas Glacier in Sonamarg.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, A video that went viral on social media platforms showed a tourist lady (name withheld) displaying a photograph of one person, alleging that this individual had asked her about her religion, among other things.

Ganderbal Police, after taking swift action, apprehended the said person, identified as Aiyaz Ahmad Jungal, son of Gh Nabi Jungal, resident of Gohipora Raizan, Ganderbal. He is a pony service provider at Thajwas Glacier, Sonamarg, it reads.

The suspect has been subjected to sustained interrogation, and the police have initiated the appropriate legal course of action, reads the statement. (JKNS)
