Srinagar: The heart wrenching attack on tourists at Pahalgam has been widely condemned across all the schools of Kashmir, and in this connection, condolence meetings and special prayers were offered in favour of all the deceased tourists during the morning assemblies.
In this regard, a divisional level condolence meet was held in the conference hall of Directorate of School Education Kashmir early in the morning.
All officers/officials of the Directorate participated in the meeting wherein Director School Education, Dr G N Itoo prayed for the deceased souls and also for the patience of the bereaved families.
Director reiterated that every employee of the Department of School Education stands with the bereaved families at this hour of grief and also prayed for speedy recovery of the injured persons. During the condolence meet, two minutes of silence was observed as a mark of respect for deceased souls.
Condolence meetings were also held at District and Zonal Levels in all the offices of respective Chief Education Officers and Zonal Education Offices.
Pahalgam Attack: Govt employees observe 2-minute silence
Srinagar: The government employees in different departments on Wednesday observed 2-minute silence as a mark of respect following the killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam.
The government had asked all employees to observe a 2-minute silence at 3:30 pm today.
“In light of the tragic killing of innocent civilians by terrorists in Pahalgam, all government office employees across Jammu and Kashmir are requested to observe a two-minute silence at 3:30 PM today as a mark of respect and solidarity,” the spokesman had said.
Meanwhile, at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, two-minute silence was observed in remembrance and honor of Pahalgam attack victims.
The legal fraternity at the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh observed two-minute silence to pay heartfelt tribute to those who lost their precious lives in the act of terrorism at Pahalgam.
Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Dr. Owais Ahmed, along with senior officials of the Central Office, observed a solemn two-minute silence today.
A two minute silence was observed in all government offices across district Kupwara today.

Rally, candlelight marches denounce violence, reaffirm peace & unity
Pulwama: In a solemn expression of grief and solidarity, people of Pulwama came together on Wednesday to mourn the tragic loss of innocent lives in the militant attack that occurred yesterday in Baisaran, Pahalgam.
A massive rally was organised in Pulwama town that culminated at the Clock Tower, here. The rally witnessed the participation of a broad spectrum of society, including members of the civil society, Bar Association, Traders Association, Transporters Union, Fruit Growers and Dealers Association, social activists, youth and locals in large numbers.
Participants raised slogans expressing solidarity with the bereaved families of the slain tourists and unequivocally condemned the cowardly and inhumane act of militancy.
The rally served as a strong message that the people of Pulwama stand for peace, coexistence and shared humanity and will not allow the militants to disturb the social fabric of the region.
