Medical Agency in Anantnag Suspended for Unethical Practices

Anantnag, Apr 24 (JKNS): In a decisive move against unethical practices, a team of Drug Control Officers in District Anantnag has suspended the operation of a medical agency located in khah bazar cheenichowk Anantnag. The action comes in response to violations of license conditions and guidelines pertaining to the disposal of expired medicines.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that Drug Control Authority in Anantnag initiated an investigation following a complaint regarding the improper disposal of expired medicines by M/s Katlantic Pharmaceutical distributors. The discarded consignment was discovered at Shipora road janglatmandi Anantnag and authorities successfully traced the origin of the waste to the aforementioned distributor.

The ensuing investigation revealed that the wholesale distributor, M/s Katlantic Pharmaceutical distributor, situated at Khah Bazar, had breached the terms of their license and disregarded established protocols for the scientific disposal of expired pharmaceutical products. As a consequence of these violations, the operational license of the agency has been suspended for a period of nine (09) days.

Due to this incident, the Drug Control Authority has issued a strong advisory and directive to all pharmaceutical traders within the district. They have been instructed to ensure the scientific and legally compliant disposal of any expired medical items in their possession.

This measure underscores the commitment of the authorities to maintain the integrity of the pharmaceutical supply chain and safeguard public health. (JKNS)
