A BJP statement said among the new entrants were prominent political figures including the District General Secretary of Congress Srinagar and the Central Kashmir Secretary of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP).

“Their decision to join the BJP reflects the growing confidence of the people of Kashmir in the leadership and vision of the party,” the BJP statement said. “The joining of grassroots leaders from other parties has further strengthened party presence and organizational structure in the region.”

Speaking on the occasion, Koul welcomed the new members and expressed happiness over the increasing support for the BJP in the Valley.

“Those who once claimed that no one would dare to hold the tri-colour in Kashmir are now witnessing countless youth proudly waving the national flag. This is the new Kashmir, where peace, development, and nationalism are taking root,” he said.

Koul also spoke strongly against the rising drug menace in the region and emphasized BJP’s commitment to a drug-free Jammu & Kashmir. He called upon the youth to actively participate in nation-building and stay away from substances that destroy the fabric of society.
