Public Advised to Avoid Unnecessary Travel Amid Heavy Rain, Snow Forecast in Anantnag

Anantnag, Apr 19 (JKNS): Authorities in Anantnag have cautioned the public over a spell of rain and snowfall forecast from April 19 to 23 advising people to avoid Unnecessary Travel.

As per an advisory issued by the Additional District Development Commissioner Anantnag, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, in view of the inclement weather forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall and snowfall in higher reaches from April 19, 2025 to April 23, 2025, the general public is advised to follow safety guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel during these adverse weather conditions to ensure safety and minimize disruption.

Further, Revenue, PWD (R&B), PWD (Mechanical Engineering), Flood Control Division Anantnag, PMGSY, Urban Local Bodies, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, and Health & Medical Education Departments are requested to make necessary logistic arrangements and take preparedness measures in view of the inclement forecast. These departments shall also activate their respective control rooms to render immediate assistance.

Besides this, the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC)/Control Room, located at DC Office Anantnag, is operational 24×7 to address any emergency or grievances.
