Fire Service Week: Speech Competition “Unite To Ignite, A Fire Safe India” hosted for students at F&ES Hqrs in Gandhinagar Jammu

Jammu: Essay cum speech competition was Friday organized at Fire & Emergency Services Hqrs. Gandhinagar Jammu as a part of Fire Service Week activity plan devised under the esteemed directions of Director Fire & Emergency Services J&K, Alok Kumar, (ADGP). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing different educational institutions of District Jammu.
The programme was presided over by Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services, Command Jammu Raj Kumar Raina. Three member jury headed by Sanjay Nagri, Accounts Officer, Dr. Manju Medical Officer, Himanshu Gandotra, Assistant Director assessed the performance of the participants and allocated five minutes time to each student to speak on the topic referred above.
As many as 19 students from different Schools participated in the essay/speech competition.
The first position was bagged by Aditya class 8th student of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Ved Mandir Amphalla, Jammu. He was awarded a memento, certificate and cash prize of Rs. 3000. The 2nd position was bagged by Akshara class 9th student of Modern Public High School, Channi Himmat, she was awarded a memento, certificate and cash prize of Rs. 2500, while 3rd position was clinched by Pooja class 10th student of Modern Public High School, Channi Himmat, she also received a memento, certificate and cash prize of Rs 2000 in the essay competition.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services Command Jammu Raj Kumar Raina congratulated the students and staff for active participation and advised all students to follow fire safety norms and encouraged all the students to take part in the awareness campaign during fire safety week.
Fire Safety Pledge was taken by all participants during the event and tributes were paid at the Martyrs Memorial by the participating students and the accompanied staff of the respective schools.
