Man Detained in Samba for Suspected Links to Pakistani Numbers, Police Investigating Linkages

Jammu, April 17 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have detained a man in the Samba district after some Pakistani phone numbers with call records were discovered on his mobile phone.

The individual as per news agency JKNS identified as Farooq Ahmed, a resident of the Poonch district, was spotted loitering near the Deputy Commissioner’s office under suspicious circumstances.

According to sources, during a preliminary check of his mobile device, the police found records of incoming calls from three different Pakistani numbers.

The J&K Police have initiated an investigation to probe both backward and forward linkages to determine whether the detained individual has any ties to terrorist or anti-national elements. Police officials are also verifying his background, travel history, and communication patterns to uncover any possible network or motives behind his presence in Samba.
