CRPF Srinagar Hosts Expert Lecture on Women’s Health, Focuses on Arthritis and Cervical Cancer Awareness

Srinagar: A lecture on “Women’s Health” was organized today under the aegis of the RCWA, GC, CRPF, Srinagar.

The session featured expert talks by Dr. Lubna Khurshid, Rheumatologist, and Dr. Naseefa, Gynecologist, from Paras Health Hospital, Srinagar. At the outset, Smt. Sangeeta Kumar, President, RCWA, GC Srinagar, welcomed the distinguished doctors with floral bouquets.

Dr. Lubna Khurshid delivered an insightful lecture on Arthritis, with special focus on Rheumatoid Arthritis, and also provided free consultations to attendees.

Dr. Naseefa presented a detailed session on preventive measures for Cervical Cancer and the effective use of HPV vaccines. Around 30 female attendees were given free consultations related to cervical cancer prevention.

Highlighting that cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women, particularly in developing countries, Dr. Naseefa emphasized the importance of early detection through Pap smears, HPV vaccination, and safe sexual practices as key preventive strategies. She also explained the signs, symptoms, and risk factors associated with the disease. The session witnessed active participation from around 65 women, including force personnel residing within the campus.

As a token of appreciation, Smt. Sangeeta Kumar presented mementos to Dr. Lubna Khurshid and Dr. Naseefa. The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Annu Arya, Senior Medical Officer, GC CRPF Srinagar.
