Rajouri: An 18-year-old boy drowned while bathing in the Manwar Tawi river near Bagnoti Nallah area in Rajouri district on Sunday afternoon.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as Nitesh Verma, son of Vijay Kumar, a resident of Chak Jaralan.
The incident occurred when the boy was taking a bath in the river and suddenly drowned. Soon after the incident, local police reached the spot and summoned the SDRF team to launch a rescue operation, official said.
Efforts were underway to retrieve the body when this report was filed. (JKNS)
