Spl Electoral team visits Polling Stations in B’gam AC

Budgam: In view of the forthcoming Bye-Election in 27-Budgam Assembly Constituency and the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls, a team of senior officers conducted a visit to various polling stations including Girls HS Budgam, BHSS Ompora, GHSS Ompora, Mohanpora, Narkara etc in the district.
The team was led by Special Secretary in Chief Electoral Office Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Dy. Chief Electoral officer Kashmir and Dy. Election officer Budgam.
During the visit, Officers inspected the presence and functioning of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) stationed at designated polling stations for the enrolment of eligible electors.
The officers interacted with the BLOs to review the progress of the ongoing revision exercise. They stressed the need for focused and diligent efforts to ensure timely and accurate updation of the Electoral Rolls.
The officers focussed on the importance of inclusivity in the electoral process and encouraged the BLOs to conduct thorough house-to-house surveys to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind, in line with the Election Commission of India’s motto ‘No Voter is to be Left Behind.’
The visit aimed at ensuring preparedness, accountability and seamless execution of the revision process in the run-up to the Bye-Elections.
