Srinagar: Police in Awantipora on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Khrew at a checkpoint established at Khrew intercepted a suspect identified as Tariq Ahmad Teeli S/o Ali Mohammad Teeli R/o Danak Mohallah Khrew and during search recovered 54 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and subsequently a Case under FIR No.27/2025 under relevant section of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Khrew. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealed people to share information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112 appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society.
