2 drug peddlers arrested in Sopore, contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Sopore and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Warpora headed by InCharge Police Post Warpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir and SHO Police Station Sopore during naka checking at Main Chowk Warpora, apprehended one Irfan Ahmad S/o Ghulam Hassan Malik R/o Bilal Abad Warpora Sopore and during search recovered 160 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus from his possession, Stating therein further that a case under FIR No. 51/2025 under relevant sections of Law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigation.
Stating that in continuation to the investigation of the case FIR No. 44/2025 NDPS Act of Police Station Sopore, the name of another accused surfaced in the said case, Police in its statement further said that a team of Police Post Fruit Mandi headed by IC Police Post Fruit Mandi got a search warrant from competent court and conducted the search of the residential house of the accused namely Firdous Ahmad Dar S/o Mohammad Sultan Dar R/o Reban and recovered 374 grams of Charas like substance from the said house.
Stating that the said accused was arrested besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society , reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per the law.
