Man killed in scuffle between two parties over installation of electric transformer in Handwara

Srinagar: A man was killed in a scuffle between two parties over installation of an electric transformer in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday evening.

An official told news agency JKNS that a dispute over the installation of an electric transformer in Dohama village of Vilgam, Handwara turned tragic when a scuffle between two parties led to the death of one individual.

He has identified as Khazir Mohd. Malik son of Sunaullah Malik resident of Dahama Handwara.

The body is currently in hospital mortuary, and will be handed over to the family after conduct of necessary medico-legal formalities, official said.

Police have registered an FIR and initiated proceedings under relevant sections of law, he said.

Further investigation is underway.—(JKNS)
