Ganderbal: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, on Wednesday inaugurated a newly-constructed modern science laboratory at RP School in Nagbal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, aiming to promote scientific learning and innovation among students.
During the impressive inauguration ceremony, Dr Andrabi as pwr news agency JKNS interacted with students who had showcased innovative models focusing on the development of the Information Technology sector and various scientific domains. She appreciated the school management for encouraging creativity and nurturing scientific spirit in young minds.
“I am impressed by the interest these children are showing in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies,” she said while addressing the gathering. “The National Education Policy (NEP) has provided a holistic, practical and diverse approach to education. In this age of digital transformation, we must provide our students with limitless scientific exposure.”
Dr Andrabi emphasized that cultivating a scientific and creative temperament among the younger generation is key to building a progressive and enlightened society. “Scientific & creative temperament among our young generation will lead us to a brighter future,” she remarked.
She urged students to familiarise themselves with national initiatives like the Digital India Mission and Skill India Mission, and actively participate in these programs to enhance their capabilities. “The central government has created several platforms under these missions to help youth shape their scientific personalities. Avail them,” she encouraged.
As a gesture of appreciation, Dr Andrabi felicitated the students who presented innovative scientific models and concept displays during the event.
Earlier, the Waqf Chairperson was given a warm welcome by the school management and students. Several dignitaries were also present at the function, including RP School Chairperson Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, Principal Nazir Ahmad Sofi, President of the Private Schools Association G N War, Professor Khurshid from Kashmir University, and noted social activist Farooq Ganderbali.
The event marked a significant step towards promoting STEM education at the grassroots level in Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
