Srinagar: Police in Handwara on Monday concluded an exhilarating football tournament organized under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2024-25, fostering sportsmanship, unity, and community engagement. The grand finale, held at Badreher Ground, Handwara, featured a thrilling match between Kirmani Football Club (Langate) and Bakihaker Football Club, with Kirmani FC emerging victorious with a 3-0 win. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of enthusiastic spectators, who cheered passionately for their favourite teams, creating an electrifying atmosphere.
The closing ceremony was graced by SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhury, along with other senior police officers. The dignitaries felicitated the winning and runner-up teams with trophies and medals, acknowledging their outstanding performance. All participating teams were also commended for their dedication, team spirit, and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
In his address, SSP Handwara emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening police-public relations and promoting peace and harmony in the region. He reiterated the commitment of J&K Police to organizing more community-centric programs that encourage youth engagement and healthy recreation.
