Police arrests drug peddler in Sopore; Contraband Substances, Cash recovered

Sopore: Police in Sopore have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances and cash from his possession.
A police party of Police Post Watergam, during patrolling at Laiser Hadipora Crossing, apprehended a drug peddler identified as Mehraj ud Din Mir son of Abdul Khaliq Mir resident of Chijhama Rafiabad. During search, officials recovered 355 grams of charas like substance and cash ?91,000 from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 34/2025 under relevant sections of Law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha & investigation has been initiated.
J&K police urges the common masses to give information regarding narcotics or any other crimes to the nearest police establishment or dial 112. General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
