Srinagar: The Commissioner SMC, Dr. Owais Ahmed, IAS held an in-depth review today to evaluate the progress and preparations for the upcoming Swachh Survekshan for the year 2024. The meeting was attended by the Joint Commissioner (Adm) SMC, Secretary SMC and other senior officials of the Corporation.

During the meeting, Dr. Owais emphasized the critical importance of upholding high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the city as part of the Swachh Survekshan initiative.

Commissioner reviewed previous performance metrics and highlighted the necessity for continuous improvement in sanitation practices and public awareness campaigns. The officials were encouraged to prioritize sustainable waste management solutions and to cultivate a strong culture of cleanliness among the residents of the Srinagar city.

Dr. Owais reiterated that achieving a high ranking in the Swachh Survekshan not only demonstrates the city’s commitment to cleanliness but also significantly contributes to the well-being and health of its citizens.

The meeting concluded with actionable points aimed at enhancing the city’s sanitation efforts, ensuring that Srinagar stands out as a model city in the nationwide cleanliness survey.
