Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a lady drug peddler and also recovered a substantial quantity of contraband substance from her possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar police said that a Police party from Police Station Shaltang at a checkpoint established at Panzinara, noticed a lady attempting to flee the scene and promptly apprehended her. Stating that during search, 1Kg 940grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from the possession of the said arrested lady peddler identified as Jabeena Bano W/o Bashir Ahmed Malik R/o Panzinara, Srinagar Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 27/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered besides initiating further investigation. In the concluding para of itsabove quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate in curbing drug abuse and related crimes.
