Srinagar: A thought-provoking seminar, “Importance of Theatre in the present times,” was held today in Srinagar, bringing together renowned theatre artists, activists, and enthusiasts. The brain-storming session aimed to discuss the dwindling interest of youth in theatre and the vital role of theatre activists, government, and non-government organizations in revitalizing the art form.
The seminar featured esteemed speakers, including Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan, M. Ameen Bhat, Manzoor A. Mir, Prof Sowkat Shafi, and Shabbeer Mujahid. The event was graced by Chief Guest, Sayed Humayun Qaisar.
The speakers emphasized the significance of theatre in promoting cultural heritage, social awareness, and emotional intelligence. They also stressed the need for collective efforts to revive interest in theatre among the younger generation.
The seminar was attended by a good number of theatre lovers and artists, who actively participated in the discussions and shared their insights.
This event marked a crucial step towards reinvigorating the theatre scene and fostering a deeper appreciation for this art form.
At the end Mushtaaque, the Creative Director of ACT- FOR A BETTER TOMORROW expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries, speakers and participants. He also expressed his special thanks to the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for their collabotation.
Last but not the least Mushtaaque appreciated the role of the print, electronic and digital media, who has always been supporting the activities of ‘ACT – For A Better Tomorrow’.
